Ans: In 1993 general elections, neither of the big political parties was able to
secure majority in the National Assembly. The Pakistan People’s Party,
however, was able to form a coalition government with the help of small
parties. Benazir Bhutto became Prime Minister of Pakistan for the second
time on October 19, 1993 and Sardar Farooq Ahmad Khan Laghari took oath
as the president of Pakistan.
