Society is, “An enduring and cooperating social group whose members have
developed organized patterns of relationship through interaction with one
another.” (Marriam Webster).
Terms ‘culture’ and ‘civilization’ cover all the three phases of human life, the
past, the present and the future. Culture is multi-dimensional. It implies a
nation’s way of living as well as the sum total of all the negative and positive
traits of the nation which form the basis of its distinct identity. Passing
through different phases of life from its beginning to the present moment, a
nation achieves excellence in different walks of life, like scientific knowledge,
social sciences, literature, arts and social relationing, the sum total of all
these achievements is given a comprehensive name ‘culture’. Putting it
shortly the ideas, customs and social behaviors of a particular people or
society is called culture.”
