Livestock rearing plays an important role in the agriculture of Pakistan
Sheep farming is the popular profession of people living in areas where there
are grazing lands. This has a very important role in the economy of the
country. This profession in difficult times is a source of support for farmers.

Bulls are used for ploughing the land and for transporting crops, Gos
buffaloes, sheep, goals, etc. are domestic animals. They are reared for milk,
butter, ghee and meat. Their hides are used for manufacturing leather

established in Lahore,
Here the health of animals is taken care of and research carried out so that
healthy animals of good breed can be bred. Other steps taken by the
government include import of animals for reproduction purposes, training of
related people, ending customs duty on livestock and dairy imports, etc.
