Ans: Canals of Rheer Jhelum:
The Upper Jhelum and Lower Jhelum canals are important canals of Doab.
Due to these canals a vast area is being cultivated and agricultural
production has increased. Besides Upper Jhelum, Upper Chenab and Lower
Ban Doab are a part of Triple Canal Project Rasool Qadirabad, Qadirabad
Baloki and Baloki Sulaimanki Link Canal, join eastern and western rivers.
They release water from the River Jhelum into the River Chenab, from the
River Chenab into the River Ravi and from the River Ravi into the River
Sutlaj According to Indus Waters Treaty, this ensures that the scarcity of
water in eastern rivers can be overcome through providing water from
western rivers via link canals,
