Qiv Write about allocation of rivers under Indus Basin Treaty,

Ans: The international partition line drawn between India and Pakistan in 1947 cut
the Bah Doab and Sutej Valley project into two parts, Ferozpur headworks
on river Sutej and Madhupur headworks on river Ravi went to Indian share
but the canals rising from these headworks flew in Pakistan territory. By this
division water supplies to certain areas of Pakistan were adversely affected.
As a result of Word Bank’s efforts Indus Basin Treaty was signed in 1980.
Under Indus Basin Treaty, Pakistan got exclusive right over the waters of the
river Indus, the Jhelum and the Chenab, India got the rights of the three
easter rivers ie, the Ravi, the Blas and the Sutlej
