Ans: Pak-European Union Relations:
The European Union is a very effective association of 27 European states.
European Union countries are Pakistan’s biggest export destinations. The
European Union accounted for 33 percent of Pakistan’s external trade in
2019 with Pakistan’s export to the EU reaching 7.4 billion Euro, composed
mainly of textile, medical equipment and leather products while EU exports
to Pakistan exceeded 5.5.billion Euro, this mainly included mechanical and
pharmaceutical products. On April 29, 2021 European Union adopted a
resolution demanding Pakistan to give freedom to religious minorities and
threatened to withdraw Pakistan’s preferential trade status in case of non-
compliance.
