Define Hypothesis?

A hypothesis is a proposed explanation or prediction based on limited evidence, which can be tested through experimentation or observation. In scientific research, a hypothesis is usually formulated before conducting an experiment and serves as the basis for testing whether certain factors or variables influence an outcome.

There are two main types of hypotheses:

  1. Null Hypothesis (H₀): This suggests that there is no effect or relationship between variables. It is often the hypothesis that researchers seek to disprove or reject.

  2. Alternative Hypothesis (H₁ or Ha): This posits that there is a significant effect or relationship between variables, and it is what researchers typically aim to support through their experiments.
