The nursing students' community visit to the slaughterhouse provided a unique opportunity for experiential learning and insight into public health and safety issues. Throughout the visit, students observed various aspects of animal handling, processing, and sanitation procedures, while also gaining an understanding of occupational health risks for slaughterhouse workers.

They engaged in discussions with slaughterhouse staff regarding food safety regulations, animal welfare practices, and the importance of maintaining hygiene standards to prevent the spread of diseases. Additionally, students learned about the role of public health agencies in monitoring and enforcing regulations within slaughterhouse facilities.

By participating in this visit, BSN students were able to apply theoretical knowledge gained in the classroom to real-world situations, enhancing their understanding of the complexities involved in ensuring the safety and well-being of both consumers and workers in the meat processing industry. Furthermore, the experience fostered critical thinking skills and raised awareness about the interconnectedness of healthcare, environmental health, and regulatory compliance in promoting community well-being.
